About once a week I receive a book manuscript, galley, or completed published book.  Usually there is a letter from the author accompanying the book asking for an endorsement or quote that might be used on the back flap or in the publicity materials.  No matter how often these books arrive on my doorstep, no matter if I endorse them or not, I am always moved that the writer had the boldness to follow his/her inner creative flow and put words to paper.

We are all Divine creative beings and it thrills me to remember that God expresses and expands through each of us RIGHT NOW.  We are only limited by what we will accept for ourselves.   We have power over out thoughts, and when we choose those thoughts that empower us it's as if we open the gateway to our natural creative flow and enter that stream of inspiration.  Our lives today are simply what they are beause of our past thoughts.  

As you move out into the week ahead, manage your thoughts and open your heart and mind to the authentic dreams waiting to unfurl themselves into your experience.  Your children are watching you and you show them how a creative genius lives his/her everyday life -- open, joyful, accepting, and respectful of the deep vein of creativity that IS God expressing in you.

Maybe I'll see your book, play, song, artwork, new business someday soon. 

 

Welcome 2008

I love the eve of a fresh, open, unlimited new year!  I love the possibilities ahead and knowing that my palette is filled with colors and I hold the brush!

A dear friend of mine told me that her most memorable New Year's Eve was spent soaking in the bathtub at midnight, candles around her and Mozart on low.  In that relaxed place she could envision how she would like the next 12 months to unfold. 

How do you want your 2008 to unfold?

Find some quiet time during these first few days and weeks of 2008 to sit and dream.  Use your laptop if you write best on a keyboard or grab your journal and favorite pen.  Ask yourself what you want the predominate feeling to be in your household : calm, joyful, peaceful, loving.  Intend to be thoughtful about the life you craft for your family and yourself.

As I sit here on the last day of 2007, snow gently falling outside and my daughters asleep upstairs, I give great thanks for the health of my family and the blessing of mothering these two incredible young women.  My role as mother has been the most fulfilling and my family has provided me joy beyond measure in this lifetime. 

Blessings to you in 2008...may all your dreams come true...Give thanks, dream, visualize, and then enjoy what you've manifested.   

Visualize Your Life

I first read Shakti Gawain's book, Creative Visualization, right out of college.  I was inspired to use my imagination to create what I wanted to experience in life.  Since that time...scientific studies and hundreds of books have been published validating this idea. 

What I now envision is children and teens using the power of their minds to navigate their lives.  It's the power of our minds linked with the amazing light and love of Spirit that creates what some call "miracles."

I recently came across a fun way to use your computer to create visual images of what you want to experience in life.  Check out: Vision Statement. 

So, have fun with this idea with your kids.  Have your younger children cut words from magazines that describe them...then paste those words on a piece of cardboard with a photo of them in the middle...Or, for tech-savvy kids try the Vision Statement ideas above.

There can be no victims when we shift into using the power of our minds and spirits to create our ideal lives.
