I recently heard someone describe gratitude as “the mother of all prayers.” Nothing opens your heart like actively appreciating life. If you’re stumped for something to be grateful for, start small--a warm house, a good cup of tea, the vibrant bush you pass on the way to work. One friend of mine keeps her gratitude list in her checkbook. She finds it helps when money panic sets in. Many parents of teens tell me that once they shift to being grateful for their son or daughter’s positive qualities they move away from nagging and judging to acceptance.
Today, as delicious feast preparations take place in my kitchen -- I'm so grateful for a healthy family, good food, eyes that can see the beauty around me, and so much more -- including 15 years of writing to a beautiful community of like minded parents...
"For that which you are thankful you will never be denied" goes an anonymous saying! I am grateful for the opportunity to speak to you from my heart.
Blessings and light to you on this day of thanks!
